“I feel like I can still do it,” Perkins said, per Zach Braziller of the New York Post. “I’m not old or anything. Going out there [on Friday against the Chicago Bears] reminded me I can still play football at a high level. I still have a lot to learn, I’m still a student of the game, so that’s encouraging.”
Perkins put up some promising statistics in the Giants’ second preseason game against the Bears. He rushed for 35 yards on six carries (5.8 yards-per-carry) and caught two passes for 30 yards.
Of course, if he makes the final 53-man roster, he’ll get nowhere near the type of playing time that Saquon Barkley does. However, Perkins could be a good pass-catching back in certain situations as well as a reliable weapon on special teams.
