New York Giants linebacker Alec Ogletree and running back Wayne Gallman both sustained injuries in Thursday night’s game.

The New York Giants opened up their preseason schedule on Thursday night with a 31-22 win over the New York Jets. Certain players stood out for Big Blue, such as undrafted linebacker Jake Carlock, rookie cornerback Corey Ballentine, and, yes, rookie quarterback Daniel Jones.

However, the decent showing by the Giants came with a few injuries.

Linebacker Alec Ogletree suffered a light calf strain according to Pat Shurmur. Veteran running back Wayne Gallman, on the other hand, has a foot strain.

Undrafted running back Jon Hilliman out of Rutgers also suffered an injury on Thursday. He ultimately came away with a concussion in the second half.

Per Dan Benton of Giants Wire, Shurmur expects some injured players to return to practice on Sunday. This includes rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton, cornerback Grant Haley, and right tackle Chad Wheeler. All three missed the Week 1 preseason game.

In the Giants victory on Thursday, Big Blue saw touchdowns from receivers Bennie Fowler Jr., Russell Shepard, T.J. Jones, and Carlock as well. The latter was a 59-yard pick-six in which Carlock batted a pass from the line of scrimmage back to himself.

Jones had a great showing, going 5-for-5 with 67 yards and a touchdown in the lone offensive drive he was on the field for. The score was a 12-yard toss to Fowler in the back right corner of the endzone to give the Giants an early 7-6 lead in the first quarter.
