New York Rangers F Vinni Lettieri scored two goals on Wednesday night for Team Walser as the Da Beauty League began play in Edina, MN.

Lettieri appeared in 27 games for the Rangers last season, scoring one goal with three points. He played the majority of the year in the AHL for the Hartford Wolf Pack, recording 23 goals with 48 points as he appeared in 48 games.

Team Wasler went on to defeat Jack Links 10-7.

The Da Beauty League was established in the Fall of 2015 by local business people in an effort to bring professional hockey to Minnesota on a year-round basis. Da Beauty League centers itself around bringing fans fast-paced professional hockey in a casual, family environment.

For the players, Da Beauty League serves as a training ground for them as they prepare for their upcoming professional seasons. Da Beauty League provides fans with three fast-paced regular season games played out of Braemar Arena in Edina, over “da” months of July and August.

The rules of the tournament are simple:

  • 4-on-4 game plus goalies
  • Games have two (2) 23-minute halves
  • Offsides, icing and all other rules of hockey apply

Other notable NHL players participating this year include Ryan McDonagh, Derek Stepan, Brady Skjei, Neal Pionk, Nate Schmidt, Jason Zucker and Brock Nelson.

Former Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh finds time to take pictures with some fans Wednesday night.
