The New York Knicks gave newly-drafted RJ Barrett a scenic and memorable welcome when he walked into Madison Square Garden.
With the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday, the New York Knicks selected Duke guard RJ Barrett. It represents a selection that brought happiness, excitement and optimism for the future to Knicks fans.
On Sunday, the Knicks posted a video to their Twitter account that showed Barrett walking onto the court at Madison Square Garden.
As he stepped onto the floor, Barrett was greeted with a scenic and memorable welcome. The lights in the arena dimmed, as the announcer shouted, “Ladies and Gentleman, at guard, at six-[foot]-seven from Duke University, please welcome, RJ Barrett.”
This was followed by a video of Barrett getting drafted.

Barrett is a great all-around player who the Knicks are sure can bring great things to the floor for them for years to come. He’s a big body who can play inside as well as handle the ball well and shoot well from the perimeter.
Despite not being able to select generationally-talented star Zion Williamson, Barrett is a fantastic choice for New York and will prove to be once the regular season begins.
