Former New York Giants defensive lineman Damon “Snacks” Harrison claps back at Big Blue fans who criticized him on Twitter.

Damon “Snacks” Harrison was a beloved figure during his short stint with the New York Giants. Since he was signed prior to the 2016 season, fans loved the nickname and the big mouthpiece that had the “teeth” design. Not to mention, he served a hefty dose of dominance on the defensive line for Big Blue.

But then Harrison was traded in late October as part of the purge the Giants made to their roster that included the trade of cornerback Eli Apple. The organization shipped Harrison to the Detroit Lions for a fifth-round selection.

Harrison now wants a new long-term deal with the Lions, one he hasn’t received yet. On Sunday, Snacks went to Twitter to take a shot at Giants fans who have criticized him for not receiving a deal yet.

Harrison racked up 86 and 76 tackles, respectively, in his only two full seasons with the Giants. He was a prominent aspect of that defense that led the Giants to the playoffs in 2016.

Therefore, it’s really unclear why Harrison is being targeted by New York fans. He did everything he could while a member of the organization and continued being a leader even through all of the losing.

Giants legend Carl Banks came to Snacks’ defense on Twitter as well.

If you’re a true Giants fan, you take Snacks’ side here. The co-sign from Banks is another reason for that as well.

Big Blue seems confident in the replacement for Harrison. The Giants took former Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence with the No. 17 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Lawrence tallied 36 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in 13 games for the Tigers in 2018.
