Before playing his first game, Mike Remmers won over New York Giants fans with a quick NY pizza shoutout on Twitter.

It is important for anyone, even football players, to make a strong first impression during the early stages of the job. New York Giants offensive lineman Mike Remmers did just that with his first tweet since being signed.

In the tweet, he addressed a topic that New Yorkers feel very passionate about.

New York is known for many things, pizza being one. Oftentimes, new signees of the Giants or the Jets will be asked on social media which pizza place they like the most. Remmers, after being officially signed on Tuesday, dodged all of these questions with an answer that is to the liking of all Giants fans.

Remmers acknowledged the quality of New York pizza, winning fans over at the same time.

If his pizza tweet wasn’t enough to have the backing of Giants fans, Remmers comes in as a destined savior at a right tackle position that Big Blues has struggled in for years. After a sequence consisting of Bobby Hart, Ereck Flowers and Chad Wheeler, Remmers could come in as the first quality starter at the right tackle position in years.

The Oregon State product now does not only have a great bond with his fans but also has a good rapport with his coach. The veteran was formerly under current New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur. Together, they helped Remmers see one of the best seasons of his career at right tackle while. The duo also helped bring a young Vikings team all the way to the NFC Championship.

It is clear that Mike Remmers has backing from his fans and coaching staff. He will now have to carry that support over to his playing on the field.
