License Plate Guy joins ESNY’s Mike Vivalo to discuss the long-lost Odell Beckham Jr. and the 2019 New York Giants.

It’s been a wild offseason for the New York Football Giants and fans have been riding a rollercoaster of emotions. I caught up with the most famous Giants fan of all, Joe Ruback, known as The License Plate Guy, to chat about the perplexing offseason decisions, new player additions and the strategy for the G-Men in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Joe wears his heart on his sleeve and is far from an objective voice in the Giants Universe. For three years, he has run the Landon Collins Charity Softball game and has become very close with the now-Washington Redskins strong safety and other players over the years.

“Mind-Boggling” is how he described the Giants handling of Collins, confused as to why the team wouldn’t place the $11.2 million franchise tag on the safety.

“I kept telling him that he was crazy to think they wouldn’t do it,” Ruback said. “That’s the last time I tell a player he’s wrong.”

We also touched on the trade of Odell Beckham Jr. and the signing Golden Tate. With all of the trades and losing Collins, the Giants are currently sitting on 12 picks in the draft, including two first-rounders (No. 6 and No. 17). Joe says they are going to address defense early, but if they are in love with a QB prospect, he can also see them packing a bunch of picks to move up and get their man.

It should be an exciting week. What does Dave Gettleman have in store? Does he have a plan? Only time will tell.
