The New York Rangers celebrate their last home game of the season in a unique way. They literally give fans the “jersey” of their backs.

Defenseman Brady Skjei took did one better when he used FaceTime to let a fan know that she would be getting his jersey on Friday night.

Claire, the lucky recipient of Skjei’s jersey, was thrilled to see who was calling her on Thursday afternoon. Skjei went on to confirm that she had to leave school early to take the call.

The student, being recorded by her dad next to her in their car, couldn’t contain herself as Skjei let her know the good news. The Rangers defenseman seemed to enjoy making the call to his newest best friend as he was smiling and laughing with Claire throughout the call.

The real interesting side note to this story is the Claire lives near Philadelphia. “It’s probably tough being a Rangers fan around there,” was Skjei’s response as Claire agreed with him.

Every Ranger in the lineup or not normally will participate in the post-game activity. The organization will have fans come out along the Blueline. Each Rangers player will take their Jersey off right their and sign it for the fan in front of them.

The expressions of the fans getting to actually take home a signed jersey are always priceless.
