Eagles QB Nick Foles would “probably” be interested in joining the New York Giants if he were to be a free agent.

There are numerous quarterbacks on the free agent market this offseason in the NFL. One of them is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles.

Over the last two seasons, Foles has played in five playoff games for the Eagles, with starting quarterback Carson Wentz sidelined due to injury. However, the Eagles look like they’re swaying more towards Wentz. They believe that he’s their starting quarterback for the future. Foles, on the other hand, wants to lead a team.

With Foles’s contract up, this offseason is the perfect opportunity to find a team he can lead. However, the Eagles could still put the franchise tag on him. They may want to keep him as a backup to Wentz.

If the Eagles do let Foles walk, there are a few teams that could be interested in picking him up. One of those teams could be the New York Giants.

According to sources close to Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com, Foles would “probably” be interested in joining the Giants if he were to become a free agent.

Some Giants fans would see this as a good idea. Foles is a reliable veteran quarterback who has applicable traits in this league. In the long-run though, is it such a good idea?

We still don’t know if Foles were to succeed in a system outside of Doug Pederson‘s in Philadelphia. What if he were to come to New York and not be a great fit in Giants HC Pat Shurmur’s system? The Giants simply cannot take their chances on that.

A better way to go about this quarterback situation would be to take someone like Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins in the draft. That way the Giants could sit him for a year and have him learn behind Eli Manning.

If that were to happen, Haskins (or whomever they decide to draft) could eventually blossom into the quarterback of the future for Big Blue.
