Scottie Pippen and Charles Oakley will give an in-depth look at their era of basketball in a panel discussion hosted by the Players’ Tribune.

The rivalry between the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls isn’t quite what it used to be. The matchup doesn’t have the same juice that it did during the 90s when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were squaring off against Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley.

Even though the rivalry has cooled down, it’s still great to re-live the moments and the players that made the Bulls and the Knicks a must-see matchup. The game of basketball itself is much different now than it was during the rough and tumble era of the 90s.

But now the nostalgic NBA fan has the opportunity to re-live some of those moments with Scottie Pippen and Charles Oakley. The pair will sit down with the Players’ Tribune to discuss their era in basketball history.

The Players’ Tribune is hosting a Q&A event — For The Record: ’90s Hoops — on November 5 featuring Pippen and Oakley where fans will have the opportunity to rub elbows with the stars and partake in a mix and mingle session with the stars prior to a panel discussion moderated by Michael Rapaport.

The night will commence at 5 p.m. and it coincides with a matchup between the Knicks and the Bulls that will take place later that evening. Chicago and New York are both in the midst of rebuilds focused on developing the youth on the roster. It may be a few years before either team has a realistic shot of contending in the Eastern Conference, but at least for one night, fans can transport themselves back in time to a moment when both teams were perennial threats in the East.

If you’re interested in traveling back to a time when Bulls-Knicks signified a grudge match between basketball giants, For The Record: ’90s Hoops could be exactly what you’re looking for.
