The New York Knicks have a rich history of fan-favorite players who give everything they have to the fans. Here comes another in Ron Baker.

Everybody knows that the NBA is full of divas and over-dramatic crybabies.

You have your LeBron James megastar types, your Rajon Rondo villain types, your Giannis Antetekounmpo rising stars, and then way off in the distant prairie of the state of Kansas, you can find the rarest of the NBA stereotypes …

Ron Baker.

Ron Baker is quickly establishing himself as a Knicks legend and a national treasure. This video preview (courtesy of @KnickFilmSchool) shows fans that daily life of a Knicks fan favorite strolling around the city:

Ron is just like us.

He wakes up in the morning, strolls on down to the local bodega and gets himself some groceries. He kills time between shifts going for a walk in the park. He shrugs off comments from people suggesting he get a haircut, opting to instead go even bigger with the flow.

Sure, Baker plays 41 games in the greatest arena known to man. That doesn’t mean he isn’t susceptible to the occasional embarrassing moment in the workplace …

We don’t care. We love him anyway.

The people of New York appreciate a blue-collar workhorse who pushes through the work grind every day with a smile on his face.

He’s just happy to be here. A prairie kid living it up in the biggest city in the world playing for the best fans in the world.

That’s as much of a feel-good story as there is nowadays.
