The month of August was a fun time for some of the New York Rangers. As we wait for the hockey season to begin, let’s take a look at some of the events the Blueshirts were part of.

Several New York Rangers enjoyed a very busy month of August. From outdoor hockey games in Oslo, Norway to the Da Beauty League, the players have been keeping busy as they await the start of the NHL season.

Welcome to the team, Ranger

Let’s start with the newest member of the hockey team, Ranger.

Adam Graves introduced Rangertown to the beautiful pup as he made everyone aware of his status as a service dog for autism.

Outdoor hockey in Norway

Henrik Lundqvist and Mats Zuccarello traveled to Oslo, Norway for a special charity outdoor game. Zuccarello and Lundqvist went head to head with their teams in a battle of bragging rights.

Zuccarello got the better of Hank, scoring three goals, but Hank’s team went on for the win. The biggest winners though were the charities the players raised the money for. It was a great event in which everyone enjoyed the moment.

The Da Beauty League

Back in the states, Minnesota actually, Rangers defenseman Brady Skjei played in the annual Da Beauty league. He didn’t fail to impress as he lit the lamp early in the season.

Dustin Tokarski signs a one year contract

The team signed Dustin Tokarski to a one year deal. He played with the Anaheim Ducks last season and will compete for the backup role to Henrik Lundqvist.

The world traveler, Pavel Buchnevich

Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich might have been the busiest player of them all. He played in Russia in the World Championships, then traveled to Turkey and Italy. Buchnevich took advantage of his free time, put this past season behind him and should be ready to take on the NHL when he hits the ice.

Ryan Spooner hits Croatia

Ryan Spooner got in the travel scene as he visited Amsterdam and Croatia. He also tried on a different uniform while in his hometown of Ottawa.

Adam Graves visits Humboldt

New York Rangers legend Adam Graves attended the Humboldt Broncos hockey day to help kick off their season.

Now it’s time to get back to work.  The first preseason game is Sept. 17 at New Jersey and the first game of the NHL season is Oct. 3 vs Nashville at MSG.
