The summer of Enes Kanter continues. The Knicks center had choice words when discussing Milwaukee as a potential destination in free agency.
It is safe to say that Enes Kanter won’t be getting the keys to the city of Milwaukee any time soon. Never at a loss for words, Kanter dropped this bombshell when asked about fielding offers from other teams this past summer.
Via Royce Young of ESPN.com, Kanter explained:
“You gotta mess with the media a little. Because I know I was not going to go to the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s the Milwaukee Bucks. Unless they give you good, good money, then go, but you don’t leave New York for Milwaukee.”
There you have it! Kanter will be paying double for a beer in Milwaukee and won’t receive any dinner invitations from Aaron Rodgers in the near future. But despite Kanter’s words/tweet getting him in trouble every now and then, don’t expect him to stop.
When asked about players and fans responding to his tweets, Kanter replied,
“Actually they love it. They’ll come up and say “We love your Twitter game. Just keep trolling, keep doing what you do.” But I think it’s just fun. You do stuff like that, the league hates it, I guess, but the fans love it. It’s the fun part of the game.”
Among other topics of conversation, Kanter discussed political unrest in Turkey, his feelings about Kevin Durant, and his semi-feud with LeBron James.
However, don’t mistake this guy for a fool. Kanter appears to have put a lot of work into his game, working on his three-point shot, and he’s in great shape.

Along with fellow teammates, Trey Burke, Frank Ntilikina, and Tim Hardaway Jr. Kanter has had a major presence on social media this offseason. Hopefully, this suggests that the Knicks will be pushing to surprise fans and pundits who don’t believe that they’ll win many games this year.
And while Kanter’s brand of humor is certainly entertaining, come October it will be time to put up or shut up!
