New York Rangers forward Vinni Lettieri scored a fantastic goal in summer league action as the Da Beauty League kicked off its season opener.

New York Rangers forward Vinni Lettieri scored a goal on Wednesday night in the Da Beauty summer league opening game in Minnesota.

Lettieri appeared in 19 games for the Rangers last season, scoring one goal with five points.

The 23-year-old spent the rest of the season playing for the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack where his season ended on a down note as he and fellow teammate Brendan Smith had a fight in practice that resulted in a broken hand for Smith.

Along with Lettieri, Brady Skjei of the New York Rangers, Steven Fogarty, Anders Lee, Nicky Leddy and Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders and Drew Stafford of the New Jersey Devils are all participants in the summer league.

The Da Beauty league is in its third summer season as it centers itself on bringing fans fast-paced professional hockey in a casual environment.

For the players, Da Beauty League serves as a training ground for the players as they prepare for their upcoming seasons. Games are played at Braemar Arena from July through the middle of August.

The league consists of six teams who play by very simple rules that lead to some great on ice action.
