New York Giants beastly rookie running back Saquaon Barkley showcases his talents on day one of rookie minicamp in Northern New Jersey.

There goes that man. Already, New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley is forcing many to salivate uncontrollably as he catches passes out of the backfield within a Pat Shurmur offense.

With Giants rookie minicamp opening up on Friday, all on hand were treated to just a glimpse of what this kid will do with Big Blue.

Here he goes on a quick five-yard stop from the wing:

Here he is working the sled as, after all, pass protection will be paramount in determining his NFL readiness:

Here’s Saquon working in individual/positional drills with the running backs:

Barkley, 21, is a name on the Giants running back depth chart along with a few veterans. These names are the newly-signed Jonathan Stewart, returning youngster Wayne Gallman, and little-known product Jalen Simmons.

The second overall choice of the 2018 NFL Draft is, by far, the best in the Jints backfield. It’s not even close.

The question moving forward pertains to workload.

New York Giants

Just how split will the workload look once the season begins? Will Pat Shurmur look to use the kid on third downs, creating somewhat of a rotation? Or will he attempt to find a third-down back and go more the conventional route?

Odds are, due to the idea Barkley can do everything and is the best third down back on the roster (among other “bests”), there will be somewhat of a rotation with no clearcut third-down back.

For now, just take in Saquon Barkley doing his thing in blue.
