Bryce Harper showed why he is one of the most electrifying players in baseball as he hits a broken bat home run against the New York Mets.

Bryce Harper is an absolute beast. This isn’t news to the New York Mets, who’ve had to deal with him for years—but I don’t know if they’ve ever seen him do something like this. Harper hit a solo shot to right center despite breaking his bat.

This is downright unbelievable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone break their bat clean in half and still hit a home run. And this wasn’t just barely a home run down into a short porch. This was close to 400 feet.

And to make it even more impressive, he hit it against Jacob deGrom. Not some guy making a spot start or some middle reliever with a 4.50 ERA. He did it against one of the better pitchers in the National League.

The Mets are off to an incredible start, but this guy has got to scare you. He’s the type of player who can carry a lineup through the dog days of summer and they’re not going away in this divisional race.

Harper is a stud and is having an insane start to his contract year. This was his eighth home run of the season and 15th RBI. He is on an absolute tear and is looking to get paid this offseason. There’s no indication yet as to where he will go, but it’s looking like whoever gets to sign the former MVP will have to open up the checkbook. He will likely sign one of the biggest contracts in sports and right now he looks like he will be well worth it.
