The New York Rangers will try to spoil the Flyers’ party on Saturday afternoon as they play their final game of the 2017-18 season. The Flyers, currently sitting at 96 points, need just one more point to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Head coach Alain Vigneault met with the media following the team’s final practice of the season on Friday. He confirmed that Cody McLeod will not be in the lineup again as he is still battling an abdominal injury.
The discussion then turned to the play of Jimmy Vesey. Vigneault told the media, via the Rangers official Twitter account,
“He has had some good games and he has had some other ones there probably hasn’t been as successful.”

Henrik Lundqvist has been named the Rangers’ Most Valuable Player as voted on by members of the #NYR media. This is the ninth season that Lundqvist has been team MVP.

Congratulations to the King as he was named the Most Valuable Player by members of the Rangers media. Henrik Lundqvist has a record of 25-7-2 in 62 games played this season. He will be in goal Saturday when the Rangers visit Philadelphia.
Chris Kreider to play for Team USA
Kreider will play for Team USA in World Championships. Represented Yanks twice before in WC and twice in World Juniors while at BC.

Larry Brooks reported through his Twitter page that forward Chris Kreider will play for Team USA in the World Championships which begin on April 14. This will be the third time Kreider has played for Team USA in the World Championships as he also played for Team USA in the World Junior Championships while he attended Boston College.

The great year for Jesper Fast continues even as he remains out of the lineup with a groin injury. Friday, the New York Rangers announced Jesper Fast has been selected as the recipient of the Players’ Player Award by his teammates.
Fast had a career season with the Rangers, recording 13 goals with 20 assists for 33 points on the season.
