The New York Rangers have had their struggles on the ice, now it seems the injury bug is becoming their top problem in Rangerstown.

New York Rangers defenseman Steven Kampfer has a fractured hand and will be out of the lineup 4-6 weeks. He joins a list of Ranger players who are getting treatment for various injuries. Chris Kreider, Kevin Shattenkirk, Pavel Buchnevich, Marc Staal and Ondrej Pavelec are all out of the lineup and watching the games as spectators.

To fill in for Kampfer, the Rangers have called up defenseman Ryan Sproul who was acquired by the Rangers for Matt Puempel in October.

Sproul joins Anthony DeAngelo, John Gilmour, Neal Pionk, Vinni Lettieri and Alexandar Georgiev as current Rangers who were playing with the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack as recently as last week.  The Rangers now only have two defensemen in the lineup who was in the lineup on opening night, Brady Skjei and Nick Holden.

A Minnesota Homecoming

Brady Skjei, Vinni Lettieri, and Neal Pionk will all be celebrating a homecoming when the Rangers visit the Minnesota Wild tonight (MSG Network, 8 p.m. EST.). All three players have family and friends attending the game. This will be the first time Lettieri and Pionk will play in Minnesota as members of the New York Rangers. Skjei has played at the XL Center before and always looks forward to the opportunity to play in from of his family.

Let The Scouting Begin

David Pagnotta of @TheFourthPeriod tweeted that the Tampa Lighting and the Toronto Maple Leafs had a full house of scouts that attended the game on Monday night. Rick Nash Would OK Deal To Toronto

TSN’s Frank Seravalli reports that Rick Nash has included the Toronto Maple Leafs on the list of teams he would be willing to be traded to. Seravalli reported that Nash picked teams he thought would have a good chance to win a Stanley Cu and that would be good for his family.
