New York Rangers Ondrej Pavelec suffered a sprained MCL in Friday night’s game and will be sidelined two-to-three weeks.
The New York Rangers injuries keep piling up. Adding to the list of Chris Kreider, Kevin Shattenkirk, Marc Staal, Pavel Buchnevich and Jimmy Vesey, now the team has to add Ondrej Pavelec to the M.A.S.H unit.

Pavelec suffered the injury sometime during the first period of the Rangers Victory of the Calgary Flames. Henrik Lundqvist canes in to relieve Pavelec and took the win.
During Saturday’s practice, the only thing mentioned regarding Pavelec’s injury was that he was scheduled for an MRI later in the day. Earlier in the day, the Rangers called up goalie Alexandar Georgiev from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack to back up Henrik Lundqvist.
Georgiev, 22 years old, has gone 8-0-1 wit 1.76 goals-against average, .948 save percentage and two shutouts in his last nine games played for the Wolf Pack. In 31 appearances he has a 2.97 GAA and .908 save percentage.
Pavelec signed a one year, $1.3 million contract in the offseason. He had 2.27 goals against average and .937 save percentage. For the season, Pavelec has appeared in 16 games this season with a 4-7-1 record. Pavelec has been in the NHL for 11 seasons, his first ten were with the Atlanta/Winnipeg organization where he compiled a record of 152 wins, 158 loses with 47 ties and 2.87 goals against average.
Ryan McDonagh will not make the two-game road trip
Defenseman Ryan McDonagh will not travel with the Rangers for their two same raid trip in Winnipeg and Minnesota. He is out of the lineup with what is being called an upper-body injury suffered in a game against San Jose in January.
Forward Jimmy Vesey, out with a concussion, is expected t be back in the lineup today when the Ranger travel to visit the Winnipeg Jets.

Th Rangers then travel to Minnesota to take on the Wild on Tuesday night.
