New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles made some interesting comments in his press conference. Which includes giving love to Steve McLendon and Dakota Dozier.

As the end of the year comes around, the nostalgia starts looking back. That doesn’t exclude New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles who gave love to a few underrated guys in Steve McLendon and Dakota Dozier, thanks to the New York Jets Media Relations Department:

On who comes to mind as the most improved players on the team:

“That’s a tough question. Let me think for a second if I can give you an answer. I would say (Dakota) Dozier, (Steve) McLendon. There’s a few of them but I would say Dozier and McLendon.”

On McLendon being one of the most improved even though he’s one of the older players on the team:

“Well, there’s things he’s worked at and got better at this year that he wasn’t doing as much last year.”

We got the full press effort from the Jets coaching staff today with coach Bowles, offensive coordinator John Morton, and defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers via the Jets Official Twitter:

Injury Report:

A lot of juicy comments there across the board, but perhaps the most pertinent revolves around the injury report, thanks to the Jets Media Relations Department:

On today’s injury report:

Leonard Williams did not practice. Brandon Shell did not practice. Matt Forté did not practice. Austin Seferian-Jenkins did not practice. Jermaine Kearse did not practice. Robby Anderson was limited. Morris Claiborne was limited. Jordan Jenkins was limited.

From reports, Muhammad Wilkerson will travel with the team regardless on their road trip to New England. Although despite what Bowles may say, there’s a negative percent chance of Wilkerson playing in Week 17. Bowles may say it’s purely a ‘football decision’ but that’s just the political answer talk, he’s not playing due to the potential of an injury clause guaranteeing his $16m plus contract for 2018.

While speaking of this rivalry, it will be one of the coldest games in New England history according to Jets Insider Rich Cimini. The Jets could also be without five offensive starters in the game which won’t help matters.

While for this Patriots team, this isn’t a meaningless game. They can lock up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win over the Jets on Sunday. So there’s plenty at stake. Conversely, the Jets could use a loss to increase their 2018 NFL Draft stock which is an interesting position at this point in the season.
