As it pertains to the New York Giants, the Oakland Raiders in Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season officially equates to Geno Smith time.

The last time Geno Smith took on the Oakland Raiders?

The one thing that’ll never be questioned when it comes to No. 7 is his toughness. In a relief role after Ryan Fitzpatrick broke his finger two years ago, Geno came in and was wallopped along the sideline in Oakland.

The kid bounced right back up while smiling all the while.

Two years later, he returns to Oakland, this time as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants.

Simply amazing.

First and foremost, to handle the Eli Manning benching the way Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese did was astounding, but to go to Geno instead of young Davis Webb blew the minds of everybody.

Speaking of everybody, that was literally the case in terms of the outpouring of emotion for the two-time Super Bowl champion. Those included are none other than the man he beat twice on the biggest stage in sports, Tim Brady, via Mike Reiss of ESPN.

“I have nothing but the most respect for him and everything he’s achieved and accomplished in his career. Obviously, being on the other side of two of those Super Bowl losses to an Eli Manning-led team, I just have so much respect for his dependability, for his consistency, for his toughness. You know that’s really everything you want in an NFL player, and I think Eli has always provided that for the team. So I think it’s a pretty unfortunate situation.”
