The Rangers, winners of their last two games, are coming off a dominant 6-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night. Chris Kreider and Jesper Fast each scored two goals. Mika Zibanejad scored his team-leading 11th of the season. Henrik Lundqvist, who started his 10th straight game, won his 10th of the season.

The Red Wings are lead by center Dylan Larkin (four goals and 26 assists for 20 points) and forward Anthony Mantha, who has netted 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points on the season. Goaltender Jimmy Howard has eight wins and six losses, including two overtime losses, in 17 games played. His goals-against average is 2.50.
The Red Wings are ranked sixth on the power play at 23.2 percent and ranked fifth on the penalty kill at 84.4 percent.
