David vs. Goliath: Mats Zuccarello Squares Up Against Victor Hedman (Video)

A true David vs. Goliath moment occurred in the NHL when New York Rangers little man Mats Zuccarello took on Bolts’ Victor Hedman.

Mats Zuccarello let Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman know first hand that size doesn’t matter.

With a scramble in front of the Tampa Bay Lightning net late in the first period of a scoreless game, Zuccarello and Hedman went at it. Zucc wouldn’t let the big guy get an advantage over him as the two kept going at it even as the officials try to break it up. A real-life David and Goliath battle occurred as both tried to get an edge over the other.

Hedman might have the height and reach advantage, but that didn’t stop Zuccarello from trying to get at the defenseman. When it looked like the battle was over, the hobbit went back at him again, just to let Hedman know he was still standing tall.

Zuccarello and Hedman both received two minutes for roughing in what is turning out to be a feisty hockey game with scraps breaking out at each whistle.

Early in  the third period, the game is tied at one apiece.
