New York Cosmos captain Carlos Mendes dropped by Schwartz on Sports to discuss the Carmelo Anthony Puerto Rico relief fund.

What do the New York Cosmos, Carmelo Anthony and the hurricane relief effort have in common?

Well, Peter Schwartz knows and in this edition of Schwartz on Sports, he explains with the help of Cosmos captain Carlos Mendes.

The former New York Knicks star, Melo, owns Peurto Rico FC, a soccer team that the Cosmos are familiar with. On Saturday, Oct. 1, 5 p.m. ET, the teams will clash.

Peter spoke with Mendes about the current NASL lawsuit brought against the USSF, the upcoming game on Saturday and how the teams worked together considering the recent hurricane season, and just how important Carmelo Anthony’s been with his current relief fund efforts in the south.

Late afternoon on Saturday, the two teams will kickoff at MCU Park in Brooklyn, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones.
