The fans have judged all players in MLB and the verdict is in—New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is the fans’ favorite player.

Of all the records that Aaron Judge has set during his historic rookie season, this might be the most impressive. Per ESPN:

The New York Yankees slugger was ranked in the poll of MLB fans as their favorite MLB player in August, becoming the first rookie to ever be selected as a favorite player in either the NFL, NBA or MLB since the poll began tracking in 1994.

Judge accomplished something that no player in any other sport has accomplished in the past 23 years. Think about that for a second. Then think about some of the legendary players who have debuted as rookies during that time. Here’s just a few for you to chew on.

Shall I continue? I think not. You get the point.

“It’s special,” Judge told ESPN of the honor. “They [the fans] are the ones watching the games, watching you do your thing, so that is pretty cool.” Yankees manager Joe Girardi had an idea as to why people gravitate toward the 6-foot-8 slugger, and it has nothing to do with his size.

“There is no arrogance to Aaron Judge. I think that’s why people probably rallied around him.”

All rise.
