The Rangers will play in back-to-back games against the Philadelphia Flyers beginning tonight at the Garden. The coaching staff will need to start to get an idea of the kind of team they want to put on the ice with the season opener approaching. Lias Andersson and Filip Chytil, both first-round picks, are scheduled to start.

Tonight’s projected lineup:

Forwards: Matt Puempel, Chris Kreider, Cristoval Nieves, Paul Carey, Mats Zuccarello, Lias Andersson, Gabriel Fontaine, Rick Nash, Filip Chytil, Pavel Buchnevich, Mika Zibanejad, Vincent Lettieri

Defenseman: Marc Staal, Kevin Shattenkirk, Ryan McDonagh, Brendan Smith, Steven Kampfer, Anthony DeAngelo

Goalies: Henrik Lundqvist, Brendan Halverson

It is expected that Henrik Lundqvist will play the full game tomorrow as Halverson backs him up.

The Rangers are coming off two losses in a row dropping decisions to the Islanders on Friday night and the Devils on Saturday night.

Philadelphia, with only one win this preseason, dropped a 2-1 OT decision to the Boston Bruins last Thursday.
