According to the official New York Rangers Twitter account, Henrik Lundqvist will sport some fancy new pads during the 2017-18 NHL season.

Henrik Lundqvist often shows up to events wearing beautiful, tailor-made suits. Why shouldn’t his goalie pads be a fashion statement as well?

Those are some pretty pads right there.

The Bauer pads feature the Statue of Liberty on the front of both legs, with the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building on the right pad and the WTC Freedom Tower on the left.

We can’t wait to see what Lundqvist has done to the mask that he’ll be sporting this year. Odds are pretty good that it’ll tie in with his new-look equipment.

Lundqvist’s best years are behind him, as he posted a career-worst 2.74 goals against average and .910 save percentage last season. But those are still solid numbers, and he still has enough left in the tank to lead the Rangers to the promised land.

Pads aside, it will be interesting to see how the longtime netminder, who battled injuries last season, performs in 2017-18. No matter how he fares, though we can be sure of one thing.

He’s going to look good doing it.
