Last Night was a big night for the NHL. The Las Vegas Golden Knights finally selected their team and the New York Rangers got new Jerseys.

Everyone can now take a deep breath. The NHL expansion draft is over. The Las Vegas Golden Knights selected Oscar Lindberg from the New York Rangers.

Although the loss of a talented, young, center will sting for months to come it’s time to move on and prepare for the offseason. GM Jeff Gorton and the New York Rangers have a boatload of work ahead in this offseason.

The Blueshirts still need to sign free agents Mika Zibanejad, Jesper Fast, and Brendan Smith. Additionally, rumors of a Derek Stepan trade have surfaced with the Arizona Coyotes. Will Jeff Gorton make the big splash on Jul. 1 and sign Kevin Shattenkirk? Much remains to be seen. What does the future hold for the New York Rangers? Time will tell.

Normal hockey operations resume tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET and many reporters have confirmed that several trades are already confirmed and in queue to be released tomorrow morning. As suspected, the New York Rangers are rumored to be involved with many teams.

New NHL Jerseys Revealed

In the midst of the expansion draft and the NHL awards, Adidas also released all 30 NHL Jerseys.

Thankfully, the original six New York Rangers sweater remains relatively unchanged. The diagonal lettering and color scheme is a hockey classic and should never be changed.
