It’s all about Kevin Shattenkirk in Rangerstown at the moment and on this edition of the New York Rangers Blueshirt Beat.

Should they or shouldn’t they? That is the question and will remain the question up until NHL free agency officially opens this summer.

Should Jeff Gorton and the New York Rangers pursue free agent-to-be Kevin Shattenkirk?

The 28-year-old New Rochelle, New York native has been rumored to end up on Broadway for several years now. Many praised Gorton’s ability to pass up on the all-star defenseman at the NHL trade deadline this past season thanks to knowing his summer availability.

Still, the question remains whether it’s prudent or not to shell out the big bucks for the man.

Brian Anderson of The Hockey Writers explains his stance on the matter.
