What a HUGE goal for the Rangers and especially Chris Kreider. 2-1 #NYR in the second. pic.twitter.com/m2bLhiZxJI

The New York Rangers take the lead against the Ottawa Senators in Game 2 on a filthy snipe by Chris Kreider. Derek Stepan then added another.
Wow, has the ice opened up in Game 2 or what?
It’s been a speed game thus far in the New York Rangers-Ottawa Senators Game 2 matchup in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Rangers got on the board first, only to see the Sens quickly tie it up in the first period.
The second period is really when New York took advantage and started that offensive jump.
After Craig Anderson stoned J.T. Miller on the power play, Chris Kreider threw up a major league snipe job to put his team up 2-1 (video above). It was his first of the playoffs.
Then, under three minutes later while on the penalty kill, Derek Stepan placed wrister high to the strong side:
Derek Stepan needs to shoot more. He couldn't have placed that puck in a better spot with his hands. #NYR pic.twitter.com/xRcZIm8l9K

He literally couldn’t have placed it in a better spot.
After Ottawa struck again, Brady Skjei put the Rangers up two goals again, 4-2. And that’s where we currently stand with the second period winding down.
