Was that Ryan McDonagh or Brian Leetch? Oh my goodness. Where has this been? #NYR pic.twitter.com/SDnQAysoZT

On a throwback type of night, New York Rangers defenseman and captain Ryan McDonagh tallied a goal reminding us of Brian Leetch.
Whoa. Wait a second.
Was that New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh or Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe winner Brian Leetch?
At first glance, it’s tough to tell. Slow motion definitely helps us out. Yes, it was No. 27, not No. 2.
Hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins in a wrap-it-up regular season finale on Sunday night, McDonagh put the Rangers on the board with a Leetch-like effort (video above). He weaved in and out of traffic with a brilliant snapshot, tying the game.
It’s only proper that the captain flashes us back to Leetch on this throwback type of night when the organization honored and celebrated the life of Steven McDonald. Mats Zuccarello skated away with his third Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award prior to the game.
After one period of the play, New York leads Pittsburgh on Derek Stepan‘s 17th goal of the season coming in the late stages of the frame.
