Finally, the New York Rangers will be participating in the Winter Classic again, the 2018 version at Citi Field against the Buffalo Sabres.
New York Rangers fans have been waiting patiently. They’ve been waiting ever so patiently, whether located in the blue seats or on ice at Madison Square Garden.
The wait is over. Finally, the Rangers will be playing outdoors again.
According to Arthur Staple of Newsday, it will be the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres at Citi Field in 2018, partaking in the 2018 NHL Winter Classic.
The event has been held in many places around the country since its inception in 2008, but never in New York. The Rangers played in the game back in 2012 when they defeated the Flyers in Philly at Citizens Bank Park. They also took part in the Stadium Series against both the New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils back in 2014.
In total, the Rangers are 3-0 in outdoor games. They’ll look to make it 4-0 in under 10 months from now.
