New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose is preaching what you all want to hear… And he’s right.
After practice on Saturday New York Knicks point guard, Derrick Rose had some interesting words for his head coach Jeff Hornacek.“I just told him, it’s defense. Our defense triggers a lot of things,” Rose told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “And I told him he has to be on us hard about defense every day. Like, beat it in our heads where we get tired of hearing him talking about it.”
The Knicks, who have dropped nine of their last eleven games, have been dreadful on the defensive end ranking 25th overall for defensive efficiency for the year.
It goes without saying but if they want to have any hopes of making the playoffs will have to turn it around soon. New York currently sit in tenth place of the Eastern Conference with an 18-22 record and have lost eight of their last 10 games.
While Rose has had a rough week off the court missing a game without telling the team, this is certainly what fans would like to hear from a player when their team is struggling.
It will be interesting to see if Hornacek takes Rose’s advice to help turn the dreadful defense around.
