Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers head to Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Flyers for a Black Friday matinee.

  • New York Rangers (14-6-1, 29 pts)
  • Philadelphia Flyers (9-9-3, 21 pts)
  • NHL, Friday, Nov. 25, 1 p.m. ET, NBC
  • Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

Neither the New York Rangers nor Philadelphia Flyers will be in festive moods this Black Friday. Both high-scoring teams are coming off disappointing losses on Wednesday. The Rangers, especially, will be furious after the humiliation of a 6-1 loss at the hands of Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on home ice.

After pulling Henrik Lundqvist in the second period of Wednesday’s loss, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault understands how critical a solid bounce back game will be, via Associated Press.

“I’ve got a lot of faith in this group. This group has played some real solid hockey. One period or 30 minutes got away from us. Now we need to respond. These are the players who have permitted us to have a good start and I’m confident these are the players who are going to permit us to respond the right way in Philly on Friday.”

The expected goalie matchup is Lundqvist (9-6-1, 2.46) and Steve Mason (5-7-3, 3.04).

New York and Philly have squared off a total of 339 times. Each has won 151 times with 37 games resulting in a tie. This one will break the all-time tie.

First puck drop comes your way at 1 p.m. ET from Philly on NBC.
