Tim Tebow’s quest to become a major league baseball player is underway, and let’s just say his first official workout generated buzz.
Fans did not want to miss this. A much-anticipated beginning to an intriguing career change took place today.
“It was one of the hardest decisions of my life to choose football over baseball.” – Tebow to David Waldstein of the New York Times
Former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, wearing No. 15, kicked off his New York Mets career in Port St. Lucie, participating in a highly watched workout at the organization’s instructional league camp.
The 29-year-old took batting practice, played catch, and took part in fielding and baserunning drills.
Given his age and stature, Tebow is vastly different than the majority of prospects he was working out with. Now, it is a matter of proving that he is one with them.
