New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose did not shy away when asked about his recent “super team” comments.

In a Tuesday interview with Fox Sports’ Rob Perez, Rose said “I mean, if you was in the league or you were teamed up with someone and they said that they were a super team or something… you wanna be a part of it, too.”

Rose was one of several New York Knicks off-season additions, including Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings. He, like several of his teammates, will have a chip on his shoulder heading into the season.

“Imma let me game speak for itself,” Rose said. “Like, I said what I said. And whenever I step on the floor, I’m gonna have to prove myself and we’re gonna have to prove ourselves to just go out there and win games.”

Rose was in Los Angeles at The Forum attending the Call of Duty XP and World League Championships. The 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player loves the video game franchise for one reason.

“The zombies,” he said. “I never played the game until you could kill those things. All those different missions you can do on the zombie levels –€“ that’s something completely different.”
