Only one College Football Saturday in and we already have a dirtiest hit winner courtesy of LSU offensive lineman Josh Boutte.
Folks, it took just one week of College Football to come up with a “dirtiest hit of the year” candidate, and boy is it a doozy.
Just moments after Wisconsin wrapped up its 16-14 upset victory against No. 5 LSU, one of the nastiest cheap shots of all-time commenced.
LSU offensive lineman Josh Boutte laid this shot on Wisconsin’s D’Cota Dixon after he picked off Brandon Harris to seal the victory at Lambeau Field:

Boutte was immediately tossed.
The excuse can (and probably will) be made that Boutte didn’t think the play was over. (Dixon was running like a bat out of hell once he completed the interception.) Excuses aside, it’s evident Boutte knew what he was doing.
Prior to the clash, Wisconsin fans didn’t hold back (as captured thanks to ESPN’s College Gameday being on the scene prior to the game).

All in all, it was a pretty wacky, yet conventional opening Saturday in College Football.
