SS – Manny Machado
In just five years in the bigs, Manny has already had his fair share of heated moments.
In 2014, Machado was at the center of a huge feud with the Oakland Athletics. He became angered when A’s third baseman Josh Donaldson hit him with a hard tag as he slid into the bag.
Machado seemingly retaliated by hitting A’s catcher Derek Norris with his backswing. Later in the series, Machado was brushed back several times by pitcher Fernando Abad. Machado abruptly threw his bat down the third-base line, supposedly directed at Abad.
He was later issued a five-game suspension by Major League Baseball.
Machado made headlines again in 2016 when he charged the mound in a game versus the Royals. He was thrown at by fellow hothead, Yordano Ventura, after a previous exchange of words.
He proceeded to charge the mound, starting a benches-clearing brawl and getting suspended four games as a result.
