New York Jets’ Bruce Carter Blocks Punt

The New York Jets’ special teams steps up with a blocked punt; Bruce Carter and Rontez Miles applied the pressure.

The New York Jets’ special teams was a major area of concern last year, playing a big role in their season-changing Week 17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

But it seems like things may be looking up after what Todd Bowles and crew have seen tonight vs. the Giants.

Thanks to Rontez Miles and Bruce Carter, the improvement seems to have already taken place.

In the first quarter of the Jets’ third preseason game, Carter blocked the punt (as Miles applied the pressure) of Giants punter Brad Wing; resulting in the highlight of the team’s night so far.

Unfortunately, the offense was unable to capitalize – as the game remains scoreless heading into the second quarter.

But – as many know – scores in the preseason provide little legitimacy.
