Apparently, major league baseball is moving away from tossing irate managers and towards ejected drunken fans.
In last night’s Phillies-Giants game, home plate umpire Bob Davidson exercised a power that has not been used in quite some time at a major league baseball game.
An apparent Philadelphia fan was unable to stop his chatter, constantly heckling the man calling balls and strikes.
Eventually, Davidson was tested a bit too far. He proceeded to walk over towards the third base dugout as if he was able to eject a player, but a fan sitting right near the dugout was the subject.
After a sequence of events you do not normally see, he had this to say:
Bob Davidson indeed had a fan ejected for language. Here’s the Postgame interview w/pool reporter @KevinCooney. pic.twitter.com/ukY8qXvd6f
