New York Mets legend Mike Piazza is now officially enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. His speech included thanking fans.
It took a while, but the New York Mets finally got a second member in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Sure, guys who played for the Mets like Willie Mays and Yogi Berra are in, but only Tom Seaver actually dons the Mets cap at Cooperstown.
On Sunday, July 24, 2016, Mike Piazza officially became that second Mets player to be enshrined.
His full speech can be viewed in the above video. Highlights included the greatest hitting catcher of all time tearing up and thanking Mets fans.
Ken Griffey Jr. was the other player to be inducted. He classically wore his trademarked backwards cap while speaking:

“Kenny, about the only thing we had in common as players was two arms and two legs,” Piazza jokes. They shared a lot of talent, too #HOFWKND
