From Tom Brady to Peyton Manning, New York Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul has gone after some of the best in the business, but his favorite QB to bring down is an old NFC East foe.
With 43 career sacks under his belt over the course of his six year NFL career, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is well versed in the art of sacking the quarterback.
Not to mention the fact that he was able to apply both consistent pressure on opposing passers and come away with one sack, despite working with essentially one hand last season.
The veteran pass rusher has gone after (and brought down) many of the game’s great gunslingers over the years. Yet, his favorite quarterback to bring to the dirt is NFC East rival Tony Romo.
“Tony Romo, because it’s just something when you play the Dallas Cowboys,” Pierre-Paul told Complex Sports. “He’s a good quarterback . . . I’m looking forward to playing him in the first game back.”
Pierre-Paul has registered seven sacks and one 28-yard pick six against the Dallas Cowboys during his career. With the Giants and Cowboys usually among the teams battling for the NFC East crown, it’s no surprise JPP gets psyched up to chase down Romo.
While the Giants reloaded their defense (giving Pierre-Paul two new friends to hunt down his favorite target with in Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison), the Cowboys will be getting back a healthy Romo, leaving both teams poised for playoff runs in 2016.
It should be another epic clash between the historic NFC East foes, one Pierre-Paul already seems to be licking his chops for.
