When you weren’t looking, former New York Islanders defenseman Brian Strait was inked to a one-year, one-way contract with an AAV of $600,000 by the Winnipeg Jets.
Stephen Whyno made the mistake of tweeting about it, because less than five minutes later, his entire account was infiltrated by #islestwitter.
This time, however, it was filled with celebration.
A lot of celebration.

Whether Strait is the worst player in the league or not is irrelevant. It’s the ability to make fun of him that’s been a major hit.
This has inspired a Reddit post entitled “Brian Strait is the worst player in the NHL”, and an Isles Nation article that reads, “You like turnovers. You walk into the bakery section of the store, and you have a hard time deciding between apple and cherry. Glazed or plain. Brian Strait likes turning the puck over.”
People are pretty ecstatic, eh?
