New York Rangers’ Mats Zuccarello Wins 2015-16 ‘Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award’ (Video)

For the second time in three years, New York Rangers’ Mats Zuccarello has won the “Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.”

Last season it turned out to be backup goaltender Cam Talbot who won it, thanks to his stellar play with Henrik Lundqvist injured.

The year before that it was Mats Zuccarello.

This year? Again, it’s Mats Zuccarello.

For the second time in three seasons, New York Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello wins the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.

Coming back from a serious injury that derailed his playoffs last spring, Zuc has managed to lead his team in scoring with 61 points (26 goals, 35 assists).

With only two games remaining in the season, he’s on the ice right now looking to do damage against the New York Islanders.
