There couldn’t have been a more disappointing outcome for the New York Islanders than what transpired today at Barclays Center.

Facing backup goaltender Matt Murray, captain John Tavares and company were shutout to the tune of 5-0 by Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Not only did the Isles get crushed, but the Penguins clinched a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot today for the 10th straight season.
