The expression on Habs’ head coach Michel Therrien’s face was priceless after that second Kreids goal.
Derek Stepan added his 18th goal of the season towards the end of the second, making the score 5-2 – one that would last through the third and final period.
The Blueshirts tallied two power-play goals and tallied 23 shots in total. Antti Raanta, starting in place of Henrik Lundqvist, stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced on the night.
The Rangers will now turn around quickly to host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday night.
