Ouch. With the New York Rangers getting smacked around today by the San Jose Sharks – a 4-1 smack down – they could be tied with the New York Islanders for the No. 2 spot in the Metropolitan Division by the end of the night.

Henrik Lundqvist was pulled today, but it wasn’t even close to being his fault.

It was the Rangers defense who simply didn’t show up.

Dan Boyle was the only New York goal scorer on the day. He took a beautiful pass from Derrick Brassard and roofed one to make the score 1-1 in the second period.

From there, it was all Sharks. Check out the highlights below.

3 Stars of the Game:

  1. Ward (Sharks – RW): Goals: 2, Assists: 0
  2. Hertl (Sharks – C): Goals: 0, Assists: 3
  3. Pavelski (Sharks – C): Goals: 1, Assists: 1
