John Tavares and the New York Islanders were unable to keep momentum going tonight as they fell in defeat to the Nashville Predators.

For the New York Islanders on Thursday night, momentum could never even get started.
They couldn’t carry the hot momentum they’ve had in recent weeks and found themselves trailing the Nashville Predators on the road 1-0 after one and 3-1 after two periods of play.
Ryan Johansen and James Neal both scored a goal and each added an assist to pace the Preds.
Brock Nelson and rookie Ryan Pulock, who collected his first ever NHL goal (video below), were the scorers for the Isles.
3 Stars of the Game:
- Johansen (Predators – C): Goals: 1, Assists: 1
- Neal (Predators – LW): Goals: 1, Assists: 1
- Ellis (Predators – D): Goals: 1, Assists: 0
