- New York Islanders (37-20-7, 81 pts)
- Toronto Maple Leafs (21-33-11, 53 pts)
- Eastern Conference, Today, 7:00 PM on RSN, TVA, MSG+
- Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario
Looking to continue their winning ways, captain John Tavares and the New York Islanders will play the Maple Leafs in Toronto tonight.
The only bad news coming out of the camp of the New York Islanders surrounds starting goaltender Jaroslav Halak. With around five minutes to go in the Isles’ 2-1 win in Pittsburgh against the Penguins on Monday night, Halak left and will not be back with the team for about six weeks.
This means Thomas Greiss is now the goalie, and his first test will come tonight in Toronto as his squad squares off against the Maple Leafs.
Despite the injury, head coach Jack Capuano still has confidence, via Associated Press:
“I got confidence if he does miss some time,” Capuano said. “We got some quality goalies here so if we run into a situation, hopefully it’s not too long a period that he’s out, but we got confidence in the guys that we have here.”
Puck drops at 7:00 PM ET and can locally be seen on MSG+.
