Kreider s lucky deflection goal NHL.comIn a rare sequence of events, the New York Rangers have scored on the power play to put the Blueshirts up 1-0 on the Dallas Stars.

New York Rangers’ forward Chris Kreider deflected a point shot on the advantage to put the good guys up 1-0 in Dallas.

The Rangers came out strong in the second period, pressuring Dallas’ defensemen with two attackers.

The Rangers have had a few opportunities in the first period as Dominic Moore had a wide open net at one point, but failed to shoot quick enough.

The game was an ugly affair from the beginning, with both teams playing sloppy in the neutral zone. Stoppages plagued the game as a result. Henrik Lundqvist has looked strong and has nullified a couple odd-man rushes.

The Rangers need to continue pressuring the Stars. Dallas’s defense is weak on the puck in their own zone and often turnover the puck when pressured.

I've been a die hard Rangers and Giants fan for as long as I can remember. I enjoy sharing opinions, and hearing from fans that love their teams just as much as I do. Henrik Lundqvist makes all of us look like mere mortals. E-mail me at: Chris.Wengert@elitesportsny.com
